Diablo Valley Junior Team Tennis League – Spring 2016

(A league for Private Tennis Clubs in the Diablo Valley)

Divisions

10 and Under: Advance Beginner / Intermediate (Green dot ball is used)

12 and Under: Intermediate / Advanced

13 and Older: Intermediate/ Advanced

Season / Schedule: Spring: March 19, 2016 to May 22, 2016
No matches will take place during spring break.

Team Registration Deadline: February 29, 2016

1. The length of each season is targeted as 7-8 weeks
2. Any rain-outs will not be made up.
3. Acceptable match times will be Saturdays or Sundays between 12:00pm – 5:00pm and to be decided by the home club.
4. All clubs will receive the season schedule a week before the first scheduled match.
5. Blackout dates for the season: Spring Break, April 2 to April 10. No matches scheduled.

Format:

1. Two singles, one doubles, no add scoring.

2. Games will be no-ad scoring, won by the first to 4 points (scored 1, 2, 3, 4).

3. If the score reaches 3-3, the receiving team decides which side the server will serve to, and the winner of that point will win the game.

4. The overall match is won by the team that has won the most games on in all matches combined.

5. All matches will consist of best of two out of three sets, or 90 minutes, whichever comes first. A set shall be the first player to reach 6 games (note: at 5-5, the player that wins the next game wins the set).

6. Designate a parent as Captain when you are not able to attend matches.

7. Player substitutions may be used so that clubs can include more players and balance play level, but it is totally optional.

a) A substitution may occur immediately after the completion of a set.

b) The substitute player continues the score of the match.

c) If the match splits sets or more time permits, another substitution can occur after the second set.

8. All teams will/can be co-ed.

9. Players that have played 20 or more USTA sanctioned tournament matches are deemed ineligible for this league

Standings:

The standings will be updated on the Diablo Valley Junior Team Tennis League on the Top Dog Sports website.

Trophies / Prizes: League will not present any prizes.

League Fees: Sleepy Hollow Players will be charged $25 for the Spring Season.
