Dear Captains,

Please note that the following rules will be effective from January 2024. The online rules will be updated accordingly:

1. A club that requires an 11am start time is welcome to join the league but will be required to play at their opponents’ club, if the opponents can provide courts at an earlier start time.

*why - this will not be impactful as I tend to try to schedule 11am starts 'away' - sometimes there is no choice, especially for facilities with multiple teams playing on the same days. An earlier start time is preferred by players needing to observe school pickups, and to avoid playing during the hottest time of the day.

2. If there is a need to default a line, any line can be defaulted.

* why - there is no disadvantage to the non defaulting team.

3. If it starts to rain after rosters are exchanged and during warmup BUT before the actual match starts, and it becomes necessary to reschedule, the Captains may alter the lineup for the purpose of rescheduling.

*why - to facilitate scheduling, if there are players in the original lineup that will be unavailable during the 2 week rain makeup timeframe. It offers no advantage or disadvantage to either team as all parties can benefit.

As my longtime Captains know, rules are changed very rarely and only after lots of logical feedback from repetitive experiences.
